Residential Architectural Design

This project involved the transformation of a residential house, redesigning both its spatial layout and elevational character. Originally designed with a bulky, modern aesthetic, the structure was handed over to us after completion of its structural and wall construction stages. The client wanted a lighter massing and a more contextual fit within its surroundings, without drastically altering the existing built form. Working within these constraints, we retained the main structural framework to minimise material waste, time, and energy, focusing instead on reinterpreting the form and spatial experience to create a tranquil, inviting home. We softened the massing, introduced a material palette of subtle, earthy tones, and infused the architecture with Indian vernacular textures, grounding the design culturally and harmoniously with its surroundings. This sensitive integration of traditional materials and a contemporary vision brought fresh authenticity to the home, allowing it to resonate deeply with both context and inhabitant.
